We have met in Tykocin during the finals of the competition in the framework of Jacek Stwora’s Scholarship. Participants were radio journalists. The youngest adepts of the sound art and reportage of the Polish Radio. They came from various Polish cities. The Museum in Tykocin granted hospitality for our endeavour.

As one can read in documents: "Tykocin recollects the old Polish town, which maintained in its spatial and architectural shape the heritage of previous eras. Quiet, calm, crystal clear air, scenic landscapes, rich flora and fauna and the openness and hospitality - these are the main strengths of Tykocin ... " and the history of course. Tykocin was once royal residence and the city with the richest Jewish community in the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. After the Cracow Kahal (in Kazimierz) the local Kahal was the second most influential in Poland.

I asked the reporters arriving for the meeting in Tykocin to bring reportages describing the life of Polish Jews. Each author had the opportunity to present their work in the context of Judaica.

Each year thousands of young Jews come to Tykocin to experience the lesson of history. We wish to create the sound history of the Polish Jews by means of the work of the man of the radio – devoted to document and collect the history in the Museum in Tykocin.

Reportages presented at the meeting are attached in the anex and can be heard.
